Introduction
A Coach Who Has Lived It
I am LaToya Ford. My story includes incarceration, but my purpose extends far beyond it. Before incarceration, I was already a wife, mother, grandmother, entrepreneur, and woman of faith. I had dreams, responsibilities, accomplishments, and challenges, just like so many other women.
My Story. My Truth. My Purpose.
A Life Shaped by Accountability, Faith, and Transformation
Then life took a turn that changed everything. My journey through the federal criminal justice system brought experiences I never imagined would become part of my story. There were moments of uncertainty, reflection, difficult emotions, and questions about what the future would hold. Incarceration did not erase who I was. It challenged me to examine who I was becoming. I had to confront difficult truths, take responsibility for my choices, and begin thinking differently about my life and my purpose. I learned that rebuilding is not always about starting over with nothing. Sometimes it is about taking everything life has taught you and deciding to move forward differently. I also learned that women carry so much more than the world sees. Some carry grief. Some carry shame. Some carry financial struggles. Some carry the weight of broken relationships, difficult decisions, or a criminal record. And some are simply exhausted from trying to hold everything together. I understand what it means to need another chance. That understanding became part of the vision for Unapologetically LT.
Why I Created Unapologetically LT
Built for Women Who Are Ready to Move Forward
Unapologetically LT was created to help women restore, rebuild, and reposition their lives after setbacks. Whether a woman is returning home after incarceration, grieving a loss, rebuilding her finances, starting a business, or rediscovering herself, I want her to know that she does not have to allow her past to determine her entire future. Through life coaching, personal development, entrepreneurship education, and empowerment, my goal is to help women identify their strengths, establish meaningful goals, and take practical steps toward the lives they want to build. I do not believe transformation means pretending the past never happened. I believe transformation means learning from the past, accepting responsibility, and making intentional choices about what happens next.
